VENICE
Venice
Venice is a vast harbor that never sleeps. Ships go along the canals and the lagoon:
vaporetti, motoscafi, gondolas, yachts, sailing ships, patrol bats, barges, canoes, tug boats, containers, big liners.
Radiant with joy, luminous like Vivaldi music.
A Narcissitic and feminine city, reflected in the canals. All the colors are represented, all the hues of yellow, orange and red ochrers.
They continue to sick in water reflections. Harmony of the warm and cold colors in the moving water.
Majestic arrival in front of the Doge’s Palace, stone laced and the proud Campanile.
San Marco Basilica parades its Byzantine domes. The large lagoon takes us into the lights which are lost in the distance.
Venice looks like a large figure, spread out symbol of infinity.
San Michele Island offers eternal rest.
An invitation to travel through the Mediterranean islands.
Liners go slowly into pale blue landscapes.
The city of Arts, a museum at open sky with its palaces and churches.
The delicate and descrete Murano, dream of mulicolor glasses.
Labyrinth of winding canals, langourous travel along water and reflections.
People live and work in Venice. In the ghetto, clothes lines link high houses.
In the shipyard men repair long black gondolas.
Everything is done by boat!
Many villas seem asleep with their closed shutters.
Philippe Sollers is looking out the window, he is watching his inspirational city.
C. Rouxel
